"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" - Nelson Mandela

The AHRA is committed to empowering people to overcome human rights violations, wherever and whoever they are. This is why our volunteers are our most important and valued asset. We consider volunteering the backbone of our work and an essential tool to promote a culture of non-violence. Helping people from various backgrounds to engage in bringing a change in their community is at the heart of our work. Such work bridges cultures and develops compassion, friendship and respect for diversity.

Volunteering is beneficial both for you and for us. As a person seeking experience, working with the AHRA will help you gain valuable skills for future employment and learn about the ethics of human rights and the universal values they carry. Youth are often the first victims of economic, political, and social crises, and the first targets of networks of violence and extremism. For older people, it is also a way to avoid isolation and become an active part of the ongoing struggle for justice and peace in the region.

There are many aspects of the AHRA that you can get involved with as a volunteer, whether you are based in the UK or in an Arab country. Start by sending us an email with your CV and preferred location (identifying both city and country).
