On 2 April 2014, the Arab Human Rights Academy (AHRA) family convened for its first senior-level meeting to discuss the vision, strategy, and future of the AHRA. Since its birth, the AHRA has made some ground-breaking progress, having launched the official website, a petition against the new Iraqi family law which has thus far garnered more than 1,000 signatures, as well as composing detailed proposals for long-term AHRA projects, which our dedicated team have worked tirelessly to produce.

This meeting symbolises a historic moment for the AHRA. As a landmark occasion, it signifies the official launch of support and backing of esteemed academics, entrepreneurs, and friends. Among the attendees, the AHRA was honoured to host the renowned Syrian poet Adonis, who offered some insightful perspectives on the direction and mission of the organisation.

The AHRA is honoured to be in the company of such distinguished personalities, and is proud to have a network of dedicated activists supporting its mission to restore the human rights discourse across the Arab world, and greatly looks forward to watching our family grow and prosper. Most of all, the AHRA team is determined to deliver a positive and inspiring message to the world, and ready to lead the global movement towards the fulfilment of human rights in the Arab world.
