The Arab Human Rights Academy (AHRA) is finally here, born out of imagination, aspirations, and the hard work of people who are passionate about delivering a message of non-violence and connecting the struggles of Europe and the Arab world
We are currently working on a couple of exciting projects that we hope will inspire at least some of you to get on-board and join our movement.
This winter we are organising the AHRA’s inaugural Human Rights Documentary Film Festival held in London which will feature 15 documentaries about various human rights issues affecting a wide range of countries in the Arab world. It will also feature panel discussions held after the screenings with an opportunity for Q&A with the artists, and an awards ceremony on the final day of the event.
We are also developing an online human rights diploma programme in both Arabic and English, with an inter-disciplinary curriculum that explores human rights issues from a variety of legal, sociological, anthropological, and political perspectives. If you are interested in this initiative and would like to find out more, we welcome all those with a passion for studying and defending human rights to apply to become a student of the Academy.
We have just launched our new website, where you will find a wealth of up-to-date information about human rights-related issues across the Arab world that our work focuses on. Don’t forget to visit our blog too! Our Arabic website is coming soon so watch this space.
